All hail Sauced Pasta Bar!
Tucked in between two bustling restaurants, newly opened Sauced Pasta Bar on Chapel Street, has certainly lived up to its hype. Given that their motto is ‘pasta how it should be’, then I have clearly been doing it wrong all these years!
Simply choose your size- snack or regular. Choose a pasta and ‘pick your poison’ [your sauce]. Simple enough; but for those indecisive individuals like me, when there are so many options on the menu, each sounding better than the other, these oh-so-simple decisions could take a while. And a while it certainly did.
If you’re feeling ‘traditional’ Sauced offers up a wide selection of your classics: bolognese, pesto, carbonara, amatriciana just to name a few. Alternatively to change things up, go for the gourmet. Spicy lentil bolognese, the 4 Ps, and others certainly puts a creative twist on the classics.
A must try on the menu is the signature parmesan chips. Just see how good they look below! Hot chips smothered with a very generous sprinkle of freshly grated parmesan cheese. The chips were as they should be, crunchy on the outside with soft pillows of potato on the inside. The addition of the parmesan just rounded off what is already a winner in my eyes.
I opted for the ‘little cylinders’ otherwise known as rigatone. And for my poison I chose ‘The New Napoli’. A classic napoli sauce, amped up with chorizo, smoked paprika and fresh green peas. Oh.My.God!
My first experience at Sauced was just as I expected. Fresh pasta and fresh sauces done the right way to make any Italian nonna proud. With the countless types of sauces and pastas on offer I am sure to return.
There is a new-kid-on-the-block at Chapel Street, and judging by its popularity it is sure to stick around. Do yourself a favour and check out this new joint, you certainly will not be disappointed.
